Sponsored Residential
Our son turns 30 this month and we are still baffled how fast this has gone. We have heard for years about the Sponsored Residential support available under the Community Living Waiver but managing the change and the extra training was daunting. Knowing that this was better for our son long term we took the plunge that dragged out for over two years which entailed switching agencies in the middle of the process but thank goodness we did! Over a year into the SPRES program, we are finally able to stop draining our retirement funds, start saving for our son's future needs and enjoy some more freedom in our retirement years. Optimizing the waivers services isn't about now but about the future. Our goal is leave a solid plan for our son's siblings to execute when we can no longer around to do so. Though developing this plan is work and definitely that doesn't occur overnight. SPRES is one step closer to that plan. Which step are your taking?
